intensive dance

Our intensive dance program is designed for the dancer that wants to take things more seriously.  This should be the main extra curricular activity the student takes part in.  You must  be invited to take part in the following levels:

Petite - Age 7 - 8 (3-4 hours per week)

Pre Junior - Age 9 -10 (4-6 hours per week)

Junior - Age 10 - 11 (4 - 6 hours per week)

Pre Intermediate - Age 11 - 13 (7-9 hours per week)

Intermediate - Age 12+ (7 - 9 hours per week)

Senior - Age 12+ (8 -10+ hours per week)

Pursuit - Age 13+ (12+ hours per week)


Please note that age groupings are only general guidelines and dancers are placed based on ability at the discretion of our directors.


All dancers in the intensive program from the Junior level up MUST take Ballet, Jazz, Modern and at least one conditioning class...Tap, Acro, Hip Hop & Broadway are optional programs.


All dancers in the intensive program MUST take ballet exams and have the option of taking tap exams.

Ballet is the basis by which all other dance forms are derived.

We offer both RAD and Cecchetti ballet methods. Exams are mandatory in the intensive program and may alternate between RAD and Cecchetti from year to year; however, both studies will be implemented through our class schedule.
Modern / Contemporary
Modern classes will comprise of modern dance technique based in Limon, Graham & Cunningham methods with a strong free release technique.

Contemporary classes will cover a fusion of technical disciplines drawing from ballet, modern and jazz. Major movement components will include use of space and travel. In these classes there is an opportunity to work on specific choreographic works with attention to artistic development.
Jazz is an upbeat, stylish, and versatile dance form. Our classes include intensive stretching & strengthening warm ups, across the floor movements, leaps, turns and centre combination work to fun, upbeat and recognizable music.
Tap is a percussive style of dance focusing on rhythm. Offering exam work in the ISTD syllabus.
Stage & Musical Theatre
Stage classes focus on the broadway element of dance and are 100% dance and character based.

Musical Theatre classes (Gotta Sing, Gotta Act, Gotta Dance!) focus on the 3 important elements of Broadway stage work; Voice, Acting & Dance as it can enhance characterization.
Hip Hop
Fun, energetic and innovative movement style to today's music.

For our intensive dancers:

Hip Hop Junior Performance (10 - 12 yrs)
Thursday's 6:30 - 7:30pm

Hip Hop Advanced (13+ yrs)
Thursday's 7:30 - 9:00pm
Gymnastics training has many elements that can benefit every athlete. The combination of strength, flexibility, power and endurance exercises work to develop basic skills – from how to fall correctly to mastering complex acrobatics!
This program works on basic tumbling skills including shoulder rolls, cartwheels (with many variations!) and more. Balances such as handstands can be easily achieved through progressions and corrections.
Conditioning / Stretching
Open to all dancers aged 12+. Work on strengthening your stamina and flexibility to make a more well rounded dancer. Barre Fitness, Stretch & Strength & other conditioning elements will be introduced.
